Post-operative Rehabilitation is Important!
When working with patients our goal is to re-establish joint motion, strength and function. It’s important to understand that even if the operation is short, the process of rehabilitation can be a long one.
Any exercise or activity undertaken during the period of rehabilitation must be progressive and safe acting as a stimulus to aid repair during recovery.
The body is self-regulating and self-healing and the correct exercises stimulate and load the tissues to aid in the repair process.
Timing is very important so take your time. You don’t want to hinder the process of healing. Too much activity or too little is not recommended- middle ground is best but in order to know your middle ground it’s important to consult a health professional.
Seeking the correct advice will result in a balance of activity, supporting and stimulating the post-surgical area back to full function in minimal time.
The Flying Physios provide all of this but we go one better than the rest. We can visit you in the comfort of your home. Our clinic comes to you. 7 days a week.
